NerdKits

Post by andrew »

Anyone else seen this yet?
http://www.nerdkits.com/

It isn't cheap at $85 with shipping, but you can get one cheaper if at least 4 people want one.

They even have videos on YouTube.

I apologize if this looks like spam, but I want to help others to get into this stuff. ;)

Very, very interesting! I shall have to look into that much later on when I have the time for it.

This is pretty cool, seems like a great(and cheap) way to get an all in one kit get you started.

Dear god, they actually ported ES to a piece of celery!

@LeonBlade: That's pretty cool. You should have a look at this one. :)
I saw someone make a processor with that program.

Here is their shipping rates in USD:

Code: Select all

United States - Priority - $4.85
Canada/Mexico - Economy - $10.63
Canada/Mexico - Priority - $10.88
UK, Australia, and all other countries - Economy - $12.65
UK, Australia, and all other countries - Priority - $12.78
The prices work out kind of weird:

Code: Select all

@1   kit  $80
@4   kits $70
@14  kits $65
@64  kits $60
@150 kits $55
You can see it on the graph they made on this page.

I have one. I got it for Christmas. It's pretty confusing at first but I got that hang of it pretty fast. Its coded in C but the C is more Assembly-looking than anything. The only real similarities is the syntax and functions of C but it uses a lot of naming systems that are similar to Assembly.

The best thing about UDP jokes is that I don’t care if you get them or not.

Funny the book I'm reading now "The elements of computing systems" is all about this stuff and came with a CD with this type of program on it... I didn't get the CD but I think the software is available on their website which I haven't gone to yet

I'll ask the owner when I see him online.

EDIT: I chatted with him a little while ago and he said: "We had tons of spam attacks at one point, so there's lots and lots of ban filters in place at the moment." He says you could try using a proxy. Otherwise you need to send me your IP address and what ISP you're using. With that information he should be able to figure out what filter you're hitting and make an exception or whatever it is that needs to be done.

If I do one of those Buckit things, are there 3 other people that: want one and have the money for it?
