Meaning of Life

Maybe other people don't exist, or are just programmed to do certain things.

Maybe you're the only person who can think, maybe others just are assigned to do certain things. Perhaps while you don't see other people, they don't exist. Maybe Life is just a test, and other people are just obstacles in life, sort of like problems, and God is the teacher.

Or maybe not, I'm only ten, I don't know.

What do you think?

Well um...

I know the meaning of life and its... oops almost gave it away.

Well if you must know its... PLAYING DREAMCAST. That is the meaning of life.
By meaning i mean definition. So by that you can infer that you aren't alive untill you play Dreamcast.

You know what? I used to wonder the same thing. Seriously. It isn't really that I don't wonder it anymore (now that I read the post, I wonder again), but I just have so much crap to do that I can't 'wonder' anymore.

According to the bible "Man is that he might have joy".

All of you are thinking, yes, we are here to be happy.

WRONG!

If you haven't noticed, we aren't happy. This is Bullshit.

The true meaning of joy (and the one most likely used in the biblical days) is humility.

We are here to feel human emotions. Sorrow, happiness, anxiety, etc. We aren't here to be happy. Now why god wants us to feel these emotions, I don't know. But I'm sick of people misinterpreting it as "Here to be happy".

I'm willing to debate this with any of you strongly religous people...

Hmm, actually, we're sort of doing this thing in senior inquiry through a number of books, etc, and the general thing seems to be that everyone's life has a different meaning or purpose, and it is what you make it.

You might consider reading Viktor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning. He was in a concentration camp and he writes about the psychological observations he made. Not "heavy" reading per se, but maybe over an eleven year old's reading level. You might give it a shot, though. Try your local library if you're interested.

I hate reading. Ever since I started school I hated it. It is all the teacher's fault. Instead of letting children read what they're interested in-- they cram fantasy and fictional garbage up your ass until you never want to read again. That is what happened to me. I can't stand reading. I hate it. The only time I read is when I have to (every day in other words) or when I want to learn a new programming language or such.

DO NOT READ THE LORD OF THE RINGS BOOKS!!!!!!

I read The Hobbit, which was great, and The Fellowship of the Ring, which was VERY BORING. I think I liked Little Women more than that.

There is no way to prove religion, which makes his bible interpretations
just as superior as yours. The fact that people, generally speaking, don't like change, is eminent. Is it hard for you to accept a new idea? Just because you believe one thing, does it really make everything else wrong? You're just like the mindless morons who couldn't comprehend a spherical planet as apposed to a flat plain. You, alike many before you, cannot accept new ideas and change.

I pity you single sided, mislead, fools who believe that their way is always correct just because that is the way they grew up knowing.

xb_forlife, I'm taking a guess, but do your parents happen to share your same views? Or is it the other way around?
