Wow, I almost forgot about that game. Arce and I bought the NES cartridge of it around Christmas. I really hadn't had time to get around to playing it. You and I should play through some night...

Damn, Tvspels, I hit refresh and I see you've been stalking up today!

Re: Official Games Beaten Over the Summer List!

Post by Falco Girgis »

I would've probably beaten more games, but I foolishly started new files on some damn long games. I always have to be working on one game per console, this is what I'm on now:

NES:
Metroid
Genesis:
Sonic 3 & Knuckles
SegaCD/32X:
Sonic CD
SNES:
Super Mario RPG
Sega Saturn:
Resident Evil (Chris's Scenario)
Playstation One:
Digimon World 3
Nintendo 64:
Paper Mario
Dreamcast:
Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
Quake III Arena
Sonic Adventure
Ooga Booga
Q-bert
Samba De Amigo
Playstation 2:
Can't play until I buy a new memory card.

Yeah, I know what I said about a game per console. Sorry, but I can't help but play DC the overwhelming majority of the time. When you have as many precious DC peripherals and almost every game on the market, you just have extreme enthusiasm and want to play DC all day.

Is Quake III even worth getting? I have two normal controllers and a DC keyboard and mouse, but I don't know whether I should get it or not.
This is a joke about unfunny jokes. And bad use of irony.

...

Quake 3 Arena for Dreamcast is one of the most brilliant DC titles I've ever played. It's well worth the $15 (at Rhino, I believe) for such a damn fun game. Single player alone is enough fast-paced fragging, awesome framerate, and beautiful graphics to make the buy worth it, but multiplayer is SO freaking fun. Get all of your friends and play.

As for a PC/DC version comparison, the DC version is definately better. The PC version (I'm sure you'll all agree) is fairly rough around the edges. The menus and stuff look like some n00b made it, and it doesn't have half the extras a game should. On DC you've got tons of different modes, full customizability, VMU minigames, VMU saving, rumble pack support, and the menu system isn't sub-par.

Trust me, this game is definately worth the buy.

I told Hyper Shadow to start a new file on Samba De Amigo the other day because I was. Later one he called back and told me he beat it. Well, that pissed me off, because nobody beats Samba before I do. So I just pwnt it a few minutes ago. Man, the "Maracas King" challenges on Challenge Mode are pretty damn insane. It's just sheer skill that allows you to beat that game.

I played with both the maracas and controller. I prefer to hone both of my skills as I enjoy playing both ways.

Hyper Shadow is spending the night at my house tonight. We just had a fiesta and both beat Samba Version 2000 together. That means that we both beat both Samba versions within 24 hours. Man, we kick major ass.

We actually beat version 2k in less than an hour. We used both maracas and controller also. We're so insane.

I've been working more on long term games, such as Paper Mario And Resident Evil, so i haven't yet beat many as of 5/28/05. Anyway, here's my list:
List of Arce wrote: NES
1) Megaman 3 (6/20/05)
2) Rescue Embassy (6/18/05)
3) Megaman 6 (7/13/05)
4) Megaman 5 (6/20/05)
N64
1) Diddy Kong Racing (6/15/05)
2) Donkey Kong 64
Sega 32X:
1) Knuckles Chaotix (5/27/05)
PlayStation:
1) Resident Evil Director's Cut (6/5/05)
SNES:
1) Donkey Kong Country (6/12/05)

I don't think it's the length of the list that counts (yet), but the length of the list of games you are currently playing, And I must say that mine is long.

Speaking of long term games. I started a new file in Kingdom Hearts earlier today (just because my sister is having trouble beating it and wants to see me do it first) and I've also been working on beating Final Fantasy III (NES) ever since I beat the second one some days ago.

GyroVorbis, you need to get back online soon so we can start pwning Megaman games as well. :spin:

Did you get a ROM of FF3? It wasn't even released in the US.

*is back*

It's ironic, because my dad just so happened to buy a new router today. That just so happened to solve the problem without me even telling him. Damn, that's really crazy.

Well, I finally beat Q3A for DC today. I had to use the same insanely hard strategy on the last boss that I did a year ago. It feels so great to beat that game again. I remember the memories from last year. It was even more fun this year.
