Video Game Collection App/Database?

Post by Falco Girgis »

I have too many goddamn games. When I'm out game shopping, I will see something cool or rare, but I won't remember if I actually own it or not.

Does anybody know of a website or iOS app or anything that you can use as a database for you games? I want to enter this shit once, then be able to search through my collection by console type. That way when I'm out and about, I will always know what I do and don't already own...

I think you've reached a whole new level of decadence ;) Didn't I show you this article? It fits so perfectly: http://www.cracked.com/blog/5-ways-your ... -hate-you/

I have to admit I don't have a solution regarding your actual problem so sorry for the OT ;)

Haha, good point... I'm totally not trying to sound like a douche either...

Saw some dude at the Flea Market selling a bunch of rare ass Sega Master System and Dreamast games, and I couldn't remember which ones I did and didn't own... Unacceptable!

So I found http://vgcollect.com, which appears to be fucking awesome... Only now I'm probably going to have to dedicate a full weekend to cataloging my games... More first world problems...

Gamestop has one on their website, and there are all sorts of facebook applications for this, too.
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

Jesus. Mother. Of. Fucking. Christ.

It has taken me literally 7 hours, but I have gone through my entire video game collection and entered it into my vgcollect database. I am literally sore and exhausted from sitting around in my pajamas all day doing this shit...

I had to put the time down to enter this shit initially... Now I can just maintain my DB. :)

Then... their server crashed and the database got deleted.

Their website allows you to export the DB from their site and download it as other formats (.CSV). I backed my shit up. I'm not going to lose anything if they were to crash. ;)
