Tvspelsfreak's PVR/DC Tutorials.

Post by Falco Girgis »

Hey, Tvspels, you remember those old tutorials you used to write me when I was first learning? I was just looking over those the other day and they're really useful. I'm sure lots of people would love it if we put them on the site. What do you think? You really did a great job on them and I'd hate to see them get wasted on just me...

Out of curiosity, how many other people would be interested in these tutorials that start off with simple PVR PNG code and work up to things like playing OGGs, getting controller input, and bounding boxes for collision?

I'm thinking (as soon as I get a coders cable) that I should start trying to learn about all of this so I can actually help with projects and such and understand what your all talking about.

I'll prolly need my own computer first so I can do anything anytime instead of just rarely.
A glitch?

There's actually some stuff I'd like to add as well. While they are pretty basic, I think they'd get any n00b with general knowledge of C/++ going.

I could add analog stick handling, VMU displaying, and later some other stuff...

Mother of god.

I actually lost contact with him around the time of our Kickstarter, but he used to check up on these boards every so often... The chances are pretty high he'll run into this topic again.

It would be amazing to have some more quality tutorials floating out there for people who want to get into Dreamcast Development written by the legend himself :worship: . Please post them if you can tvspelsfreak that would be rad!
