What Would You Tell Your Highschool Self?

Random irrelevance that just didn't fit into other forums. Talk about anything.

LOL MARCEL IS A LASS LOL HE'S A GIRL

Me personally, I would probably say something like this.

Try to open yourself up more to the world, learn to become less shy and talk to more people, but stay true to your self.
Whatever problems you're having now, mean nothing, trust me. Compared to what you'll face later on in life you'll wish you had these times again.
Don't rush through the 4 years in high school, it will be over before you know it, and you'll wish you had the time.
You'll get a girlfriend and you will end up breaking up with her because of lack of interest, know that she loves you more than you'll ever know and you should take the time to appreciate that and be more open and try to keep the relationship going before giving up.
Don't fail English 9 and History 9, they will fuck up the rest of your year.
If you do still fail those classes, don't skip out on getting your college stuff prepared for when you graduate.
Don't go to the community college, stick with your plans.
If you end up where I'm at now... you've failed, but don't worry, you still have a life ahead of you.
There's no place like ~/

Here's the thing. So you meet up with her and marry her. Did you marry her because you love her, or because someone told you you'd marry her?

Would he have told you to marry her if you didn't love her?

Oh a few things.
Mainly I would just tell myself to stop coasting along, I squandered so much time by just not expecting the future to ever hit, but it does and like a truck at that.

Then of course, study harder, get into programming etc, I never really valued any education back then and what did that get me, well today basically - studying basic French again (out of interest this time though) and math topics I'm ashamed to mention!

Lastly, to look into veganism. As something fairly important to me today, always have wished I looked into it sooner.

It's weird; some of my advice would be oddly split into opposites:

Don't think you know everything; you don't. Just because all of your friends are clueless about computer programming, it doesn't make you a pro.
Don't be psyched out by the later chapters in programming books and other advanced topics. I don't care if it sounds boring or too hard, struggle through it and learn it. Go deep or your skills won't be very valuable. Get experience.

Learn the business side of things. You're naive and if you don't get a lot of real-life, real-world experience, you're going to stay naive even into your 30's.

I know you like to stay solo and work in a cave, but really, people aren't that bad overall. In fact, you never know how much you need them until they're gone. A whole lot of good comes from socializing. Build your social skills now.

Don't be pathetic with regard to girls. Don't latch on to one girl to obsess over; it's not worth it. Keep your options open.

There's a lot more but that's a sampling.
