ARhrrrr - An augmented reality shooter
This is just awesome. You point the mobile phone camera at the map and it renders the interactive 3D world on top of the video in realtime.
Can you imagine the possibilities of this?

I'm picturing a helmet visor insteead of on a phone. Walking around my backyard shooting zombies.

Re: ARhrrrr - An augmented reality shooter
Many years ago I read about something in Japan that was a helmet that rendered like, pac-man-ish spheres that you 'collected' on the inside of the visor, that lined up with the places you were walking around. So you saw the spheres like they were actually there. Of course, I'm sure this came at the cost of wandering around with a helmet and looking like a moron.
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

Very cool i wonder how the camera data is processed for the 3D scenery, the only thing i don't like about this is that the player has to bend over the table.. i can't imagine playing it for very long

If it's as addictive as it looks, I wouldn't mind the physical movement.pritam wrote:Very cool i wonder how the camera data is processed for the 3D scenery, the only thing i don't like about this is that the player has to bend over the table.. i can't imagine playing it for very long

Rofl I wish I was that original when it comes to naming games
Re: ARhrrrr - An augmented reality shooter
I can see it already, I'm playing and then my friend walks in... "Ummm... Your supposed to eat skittles not lay them on an empty map... while recording with a camera... WTF???"

And then they pick them up and eat them while getting in the way of the camera and you die.eatcomics wrote:I can see it already, I'm playing and then my friend walks in... "Ummm... Your supposed to eat skittles not lay them on an empty map... while recording with a camera... WTF???"

This is the future baby!
Still using the city map as a reference (not like there's another way to do it but it's pretty obvious)
There's something similar to the psp! (just a hell lot cuter)
I think this is a smarter use of the ARRRRrrrr technology. (although I must say, these Skittle bombs were awesome)

I think they'd probably be more concerned with the fact that a Skittle just blew up in their stomach.eatcomics wrote: That'd be my luck... Then they would wonder why I was cussing them out...

Well their stomach would be zombie (and any unlucky human) free!dandymcgee wrote:I think they'd probably be more concerned with the fact that a Skittle just blew up in their stomach.eatcomics wrote: That'd be my luck... Then they would wonder why I was cussing them out...
Edit: I just noticed, in the OP it says something about SCAD, aka savhana cart of oledge and design (refer to the original ES series... Intro. to Adventures in game development....)

I was about to mention that... but did they actually implant it in any games? I was from LONG time ago...Netwatcher wrote:This is the future baby!
