Microsoft Security Essentials is free and it's actually very good. The only trouble I have with it is on single-core CPUs, I would say avoid it if you have a single-core CPU because it tends to take a lot of CPU usage.

I use Norton. Its fast, effective. I like it with Mozilla because it shows a green checkmark by sites to determine which ones are safe or a red cross for if their unsafe. Mozilla also scans everything that i download, so that probably helps(Haven't detected anything with it.).

i agree, i cant believe people still use that memory whore. I love its performance monitor, it was showing Norton using less than 10% CPU and 200mb of RAM, then i decide to look deeper into my system and see it using 2.3gb of ram and was blocking up the CPU constantly. Most of the time im on my linux system so virus = whatever... and my windows bootup i just use kaspersky or go in solo.

Norton 360, in my experience, causes more issues than it solves. AVG covers pretty much everything, for even the most avid collector of exotic and dangerous porn. Not too harsh on system speed either. ;)

I use AVG aswell. It's free and doesn't put a dent in performance even with deep scans running.

Real men handle it themselves.

Just joking of course, I don't bother with anti-viruses because they're all just memory wastage IMO.
