Thanks, yeah I think I like that re-design the most as well so far. Keep in mind all the different designs aren't necassarily as rendered as well as they should be. It's more just 'brain storming' as to how I might redo them.

Here is another style I wanted to try. Truth be told I'm not that happy with the actual sprites look. The style seems ok but I would need some clever trickery for the wings so that the reflection stays cool looking at all times. I really must get back to work on my iPhone game!

What ever happened to this project? I always check back to this every once in a while just because it is so cool... but it seems Sam Zeid has gone missing :P

His website is down, and all the images are broken because of it. Did I miss something? :(

Hey, sorry for the lack of contact everyone. The project had to be put on hold as the game just wasn't feeling fun anymore (I refuse to release a game if it isn't going to be fun), I was doing my final year of uni and on another note I am fairly poor at the moment. I am doing honors this year, and am just finishing off a project that will land me a bit of cash, so hopefully whilst working on my honors project I will have some spare time to revise the direction of this game and make it something impressive.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to give us an update. Glad to hear it's not completely scrapped or something because this really is an extraordinary endeavor. Hope all is going well with both school and your other projects.

Good for you man! That can be a tough call to make, especially when you're poor (as I am right now - also in university). I've gone back and forth between just pushing it out there barebones and making it right. I'm glad I've gone with the latter more times than the former. In some cases, rushing things has caused me to go back and fix what should've been fixed properly in the first place - but I get back to it eventually and I credit those fixes as being part of a massive learning experience for myself.

If I can quote what someone said to me on the XNA forums, just keep the faith in what you're doing!

In the nicest way, your talent pisses me off. Where did you learn to paint like that?

Currently working on a fighting game with some friends. Here are a couple of the more complete character/costume designs:

War-hero gone into hidding

Zealot/Priest

Feel free to comment/critique the designs.

uh... :shock2:
DAMN that looks freakin' good zeid, keep it up.
I feel a bit like I have to dread that priest, dunno if you intended that^^

and btw the design of the face for the first one is going to be extremely important for what feel I'll have when looking at him. Just imagine him looking angry, heroic, whatever...

That priest looks like he'd rip an army apart with his bare hands, chanting latin under his breath the entire time
But seriously, it's awesome.
