I think "Off-Topic" needs a rule update Mar.

Perhaps "No padding you post count with stupid shit."

Agreed. Maybe all the topics need rule updates. *cough* Game Design; Writing *cough*

Or maybe they should have a stupid shit category.

And by the way making the post "Perhaps 'No padding you post count with stupid shit.'"
Is padding your post count.

No you ninnyhammer! Your post contained "stupid shit," dandymcgee's post did not.
If anything, I would only suggest that post counts do not go up in the Off-Topic section.

Maybe we should have mods drop the banhammer on people who continually post stupid shit.

My assumption was the purpose of having an "Off-Topic" section in the forums was not simply to post every time a random image crosses your mind (or your monitor), we have Twitter for that.

Rather it should be used, in my opinion, to post things that may have genuine conversational value while not necessarily being directly related to an offered category (Programming, Design, etc.).

But that's just me.

Damn, the man has a good point. I wonder if this is feasible with phpBB. I mean, we are a forum dedicated to game development and programming, somebody who consistently posts irrelevancies in General/Off-Topic should not be viewed as a "professional" based on rank.
