Bottoms Up! [iOS & PC] – IGF competitor

Post by Skomakar'n »

I am currently working on a game called Bottoms Up!, with my friend and colleague Erik. We legally registered our company Royal Railway this spring, and are now working as fulltime indies. We hope to finish the game soon.

Image

The game has been submitted to IGF 2012, in the form of a freely available demo for Windows, OS X and 64 bit Linux. Some people have failed to start the program under Windows 7 64 bit, though. This shall be solved at some point.

In addition to the three systems mentioned in regards to the demo, we are also developing the game for iOS, with a special HD version for the iPad. This is what I am currently focusing on (I am the programmer and artist, and Erik is the composer and sound designer).

Check the demo download page for more information!

It looks interesting!
Can't play it now, since it's too late and I have to go to bed, but I will download and try tomorrow if it runs on my Windows 7 64 bit system.

So you are working full time on this project?
How do you pay your bills? :p

Good work, tho ^^

Thank you! That would be great!

I still haven't left the safety of the parental house! I'm living with my mother, and I have some stacked up money.

Thanks!

Haha. I wish. I have been trying to get it white, but it's still a bit blondish/yellowish, and I don't think I can remove much more pigment than this. My avatar is a bit desaturated. I'm going to put a lot of black back in it (I had it black for two years, and started bleaching it March of 2010 or so), and I'll see what I'll do with the rest of it.

This looks amazing. Though I'm curious of when you first started on this project, I know you said that you registered your company this spring, but did you also start working on this at that time too?

I also wish you the best of luck in the Indie Game Festival! :D

Ahh that's a shame, white hair is so unique and awesome looking. ;)
Shame indeed.

Thank you and thank you! Twitter (link in the first post) is the best place to stay updated, though!

I downloaded the game and tried to run it, but nothing happens.
I'm on a Windows 7 64 bit system. Is that the same problem the other guys had?

There's no error message or anything. it just simply won't start

I noticed that I had the game running in the background (checked the task manager), but there was no way of getting to it.
Let me know when you have fixed the Windows 7 64 bit problem :)

Forgot to post about it here! It booted up in the iPad this Thursday! It's broken in many ways, but I'm making progress.

You can see that the copyright notice doesn't look right in this picture, but that has been fixed by now.

Yep. :/ I'll do my best to fix it some day in a while.

Hijacking my own thread to point out that we submitted an entry to Ludum Dare 22! Thread is here!

Making this, I think we might have also found the solution to the problem of the game not starting up for some Windows users. Won't give it a try until tomorrow, though.
