Kinetik's Asteroids Remake

Post by k1net1k »

I started making a asteroids game in flash, Using AS3 and vector art drawn in flash. This is my first ever game, so don't expect too much.

Very basic collision detection - eg. the ship is being hit tested against one point (where the ship cockpit is). I'm going to work on this more after I fix up some other features.

Demo is here for those of you interested.

Things to do
Show current level multiplier
Game balancing. Everything is variable, so tweaking of level points and difficulty multipliers
Scoreboard. Fix this, add stuff like the bonuses for completing a round.
Top score. either per session or per user
Maybe tie time taken to complete levels into the bonus multiplier
When objects (ship, asteroids) get close to the edges, show them poking out from the opposite edge.

Nice man, plays pretty smoothly.

I tried to play it from the Arcade spot on your website but I guess you don't have that implemented yet. Looks good so far tho :)

Omg I love asteroids! :)

If there is one thing I could suggest it's make it so you speed up a little faster and your velocity decreases a little slower. I think that's one of the reasons the original asteroids was so hard

Other than that it's awesome! ;)
