I'm new to programming and haven't got the hang of graphics, key presses, etc. so I'm making a text-based rpg that runs on the DOS screen. It's quite simple and should be finished soon.
I'll make your software hardware.

I'm currently working on a demonstration piece for a university i'm getting an interview for.

I've been working on it for a few weeks, but i'm one of those people who doesn't like to talk about something until it's tangible.

I'm not going to go into any major details now, but in around a week from now, i'll be making a video, and when i've finished it (i'll continue working on it for a while, the university will get something that works ok, but I really don't have enough time to make the improvements which I WILL be making on the release version) I will release it and post it on my website http://www.programmerinprogress.com (plus some much needed updates)

Don't get your hopes up by any means, it's just a small game which I knew I could make with my current knowledge (the idea was so that I could get something made to show the person interviewing me, so we're not talking about another BLOCK  )

Keep watching the skis...I mean skies ;)

PS, EDIT, whatever's your cup of tea: that RTS looks really cool, good luck with that, I can't wait to see how that turns out ;)

I think I can program pretty well, it's my compiler that needs convincing!

And now a joke to lighten to mood :D

I wander what programming language anakin skywalker used to program C3-PO's AI back on tatooine? my guess is Jawa :P

Friend and I are currently working on a very basic level editor and a hack n' slash to go with it. Just to find out what we're capable of doing.

I'm giving DirectX a shot and maybe use that for a Windows port of my game I mentioned here before, Roll 'Em Out. Yeah, it's already using OpenGL but I wanted to take a challenge of learning something new. So far I've only used it for 9 days but I already have my own .obj model loader up and running, with some lighting and camera controls. I'll post some screens when I make something more substantial out of it (like loading simple environments).

A journal of my programming work can be seen in my new blog, at http://www.zerodom.com (everyone else is plugging their website so why not). It will also cover general web programming topics as well.

Project name: Amsterdam Scene.
A 3D environment scene of Amsterdam created in 3D Studio Max. It must be very realistic and very detailed too! This is my first time creating a city while using the mental ray renderer. It is supposed to be finished in the end of March.

Been there. Lost my 6 year big learning project (MrAdventure MUD Engine). :( :( :(
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

*Runs off to update his back-up drive*

No seriously though, that sucks. I remember the time I first learned what "format" meant... I thought it was gonna tidy my files or something.

^Lol

My HD just died a few days ago too, but almost every thing I cared about I had backed up on a flash drive, so it's not as bad.

Last year my uncle's house got hit by lightning and it blew a whole in his living room wall and fried both of his relatively new computers (which he uses for work). It also melted their printer / fax / scanner thingy's USB cable into the motherboard. Not fun. Back-ups will save your ass one day.
