Jumping and Jetpack.

Post by Falco Girgis »

Hey, I've run into a decision. :?

I was thinking that you walk on the ground, but when you push the L trigger, you activate jetpack. The harder you hold it down, the faster you fly up. But then you have a guage that is how long your jetpack will last. The harder you push down the more it is used. It'll slowly refill over time.

Do you think we should have jumping as well? That'd mean more hard work for programming and a couple more sprites for our graphix artists. I'm willing to do it though.

What are your views on jumping and flying?[/i]

First off, are you going to have platforms that the players can land on, if not then jumping is a must. I can just see everyone is out of fuel and its just becomes a button masher game since there is no way to dodge. You don't want your DC Buttons damaged do you?

Oh Oh, how many controllers does the DC have? And are you going to have AI peeps in it too like in Space Masters?

Just an idea. What if there were power ups to fly for awile and then a double jump like in the Genesis game Vectorman. That may help with not punshing the DC buttons to jetpack.

Actually, Anarki, that's a hell of an idea.

I was allready planning on having powerups for jetpack. I think that double jump would just be too much though. There will already be lots and lots of platforms and crap to jump on. I don't think you'll need double jump.
