The 8pen

Post by trufun202 »

I'm interested to see if this takes off. I really don't see the casual mobile user learning to use this, but I love the level of rethinking and innovation.

This launches today for the Android 2.2. If anyone tries it, let me know how it works!

Gonna try this out too, because the borders of the touchscreen of my phone (xperia X10) wont recognize most of my clicks.

Looks really strange. I wonder how hard it would be to use?

Looks like it might take some getting used to, but would be well worth the time.

I just bought it and it is fucking awesome. Feels much more natural to write something. I'm just missing a German layout but I'm sure that will come soon.

Inno, sounds like a gimic, but who knows, it would be nice if they had an applet where you could test it out. It be cool if it was just some weird intrinsic thing, and you just picked it up no problem.

Do we really need something to HELP people text faster/more??? ;)

Sounds like a good idea, just annoying that it has to be another keyboard to learn from scratch.
Imagine learning how to type on a keyboard like this when you were a kid, we could pick it up so much faster learning it that young and being able to improve over time.
There's no place like ~/

Definitely going to download this, thanks for the video man. I can't imagine it will be that hard to learn, because the problem with typing on a keyboard was really just doing it RIGHT. We could all use 2 fingers even at a young age. With this, there's really only one way to do it. Much like texting where you could easily learn to do it quickly in a matter of days to weeks like I did (before I got a phone keyboard). And obviously we have all written before, so the forearm motions won't feel to awkward to get a hang of either.
