Star Wars: The Old Republic

Post by hurstshifter »

Is anyone planning on trying out this game come December? I'll definitely be trying it out. If you plan on getting it, maybe share which faction/class you're interested in playing. I can see myself going Sith Imperial Agent because I've heard a lot of good things about the writers behind their story. Also there will likely be a lot of lightsaber swinging going on early in the launch so I'd like to stand out as a different kind of class.

Rats. I was hoping this would be a thread on how the game will be dead-on-arrival.

I thought about going Jedi. Has anyone heard anything about the pricing?

I had no interest in playing this game until I played it last weekend. Its not great, but its servicable, and its an MMO and its Star Wars. Its very much like vanilla WoW when it came out which is good enough for me. I still am not a huge fan of the art style but it does look better in game than on the screenshots.

First MMO I've pre-ordered since WoW came out.

I beta tested this over the Thanksgiving Holiday and it seems pretty solid. I only had a few minor issues with it which I resolved before the weekend was up. I plan on going Jedi Knight at some point. I'm not sure when I'll purchase. I'd like to see more on their pricing structure first.

I played in two beta weekends and was very impressed. It is not perfect yet, but definitely the best pre-launch condition of any MMO I have played. I will be starting as a Smuggler at launch.
