Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver

Post by Bakkon »

...is out today!

Much like how FireRed and LeafGreen were updated remakes of the original Red and Blue, HeartGold and SoulSilver retell the story of the second generation games, Gold and Silver, in the Johto region. The game has been revamped to the new DS engine that Diamon, Pearl, and Platinum run on and tons of new features have been added. The Kanto region is fully fleshed out after you beat the Elite 4 and there's additional story events allowing you to capture all the legendaries from previous generations that were not in the first DS games.

2nd generation is easily my favorite and I literally feel like I'm a 12-year-old again playing this. I bought the HeartGold version. So who else is still awesome enough to handle Pokemon? 8-)

I will never be too old to play pokemon. I've played every one thusfar and will certainly pick one of these up eventually.

I thought that this would be some dumb gimmick I would never touch but it's turning out to be really cool. I can only have one Pokemon on it at a time, but it looks like there's two more slots to unlock. You start with two courses and about a dozen more to unlock. I guess you're able to get some awesome Pokemon if you walk a decent amount and you can port the over early in the game.

The new music owns, running shoes toggle on/off, touch screen drag and drop for the storage boxes, goddamn, this game is amazing. I've having so much fun running around with my Totodile following behind.

Man, that sounds like so much goddamn fun.

The Poke'Walker reminds me of putting my Sonic Adventure Chaos onto my VMU and training them any time I went to school, out to play, or anytime away from my Dreamcast.

I think Kendall and I are both doing Chickorita.

But yeah, I definitely agree that Gold/Silver were the best versions. I loved the hell out of Blue/Red, but with Gold and Silver you get Johto AND Kanto? Holy shit!

Damn I kinda stopped with Leaf Green/Fire Red, I gotta say though it's damn nice to see the updated graphics and new features like the Poke'walker and it looks sexier than ever!

So I was going to head out and get these on release night, but got caught up at a Brawl party until about 7 in the morning....

Needless to say, the whole next day was spent sleeping, so I didn't have a change to get it then, either.

Reading this topic, however, has made me decide to run to gamestop before work. XD
