First system, a handheld, was Sega GameGear when I was about 4 with Sonic, MLB, and some fighter jets game - nothing that memorable for me. First console was a SNES, and that was where my love of games really started - followed by the GB Color where I bought Pokemon.

MK for NES or snes? I remember hearing rumors of illegal mk nes bootlegs :)

first for me was atari 2600 which was awesome. We had a game hide and seek which was probably the best 2 player game ever made. close ur eyes while ur partner hides in a house then u go find them. not sure why we didnt just turn around and play for real..

from that point it was
nes
snes
genesis (sega channel looney toons bowling - amazing)
32x
N64
jaguar (white men cant jump was awesome)
saturn
psx
xbox
ps2 (for mk armageddon only, was ranked #4 online on ps2 for a couple months ;) noob and shujinko ftw)
360
wii

sadly never a dreamcast. always wanted one but never happened. i had 3 brothers so lots of consoles. had a few handhelds but never liked them much.

GameGear was my first non-PC gaming system! X-men, Shinobi II, Ecco 2, Sonic 2 and Sonic Chaos!

First actual console was the Playstation 1.

I didn't even know how much it sucked until I finally escaped the realm of Nintendo systems  now that I know, I can't believe I enjoyed the GC that much

When I was very little (and before I was born) my older siblings always wanted a game console, but my parents never complied until I was about 8, and we got a Gamecube for Christmas.

EDIT: And unlike SOME of the people above, I loved and still love the Gamecube. It's actually pretty awesome.
If only I could be so grossly incandescent
