LAN RPG's?(mhum, ES team, mhum)

Post by Netwatcher »

So I was looking to play a LAN game with my brother(9) today, thought about what we might play,
"FPS.... too bloody and fast-paced, RTS?... too complicated(though he does play C&C3 from time to time, not that he's good at it) RPG?.... well.... what then?" and then it occured to me,
there aren't much RPG games you can play through lan, the only ones i know are
Secrets of Ultimate Legendary Fantasy, UNLEASHED! which is free but too short, and only fun the first... 10-20 minuets you play it( and it's open source too :) ) and Neverwinter nights, which I must purchase and can't find it/don't want to buy the game just for LAN.

So I have few suggestions

A. Make it a community project to make "Elysian Shadows" Networkable/dual characterable (Woof!)
B. List LAN RPGs you know here.
C. because it comes after B... .

Edit:
Tried Diablo but bro didnt like :(

If you head over to www.allegro.cc they have a depot full of user made Allegro games. I go over there from time to time to check some of them out when I'm bored and most of them are pretty fun. Also some of them have LAN / online capability's.

I think he meant professional games. I was thinking Diablo as well, but if he doesn't like that... maybe he wants something simpler (not an RPG?).

I believe Neverwinter Nights has online capabilities?

You could be  and make him try RuneScape, lol.

I'm talkin' bout PC games... LAN on PS3? I think not.

My friend is addicted to neverwinter nights 2, guess what, xfire says he's playing now!

But you're right there aren't that many... But if you're brother (or whoever, I didn't pay attention) doesn't like starcraft or c&c red alert 2, then good luck with lan!

Edit: C'mon what's better than tank rushing in red alert 2, or jet rushing??? although my brother is fond of the infantry rush, it's a good strategy because it's better at gettin rid of tanks and such, but tanks and planes just look so much cooler!

I think it's beyond the intelligence of a 9 year-old... well at least his
