Phantasy Star Universe info.

Post by Falco Girgis »

Interesting info for those of you considering buying this respectable title. This is from the official site:
Which version of the game should I get? wrote:That depends on you, but each has their own advantages. PC users and PS2 users from the same country can play together in the same Phantasy Star Universe world! Xbox 360 users will be able to play with their Japanese counterparts and also use the Xbox headsets for voice chat capabilities. It just depends on what you're looking for, and where your friends are… Maybe you should just get them all!
To put this in English, you want the PS2 or PC version. They both play together, and are both going to 100% definitely have the most people and the most attention.

360ers get to play with themselves. They also get to voice chat with the whole 10 Japanese people that own a 360. Make sure you learn Japanese.

Buy them all. LOL
Can I play with players who are using Dreamcast, GameCube, and Xbox versions? wrote:Because Phantasy Star Universe is a completely new game, it is incompatible with any of the previous versions of Phantasy Star Online.
Sorry guys, but PSU and PSO are not compatible. If you are stupid enough to need to ask this question, you should probably just play Hello Kitty Online Adventure.
Exactly how much content will we be getting? wrote:We're glad you asked that question. We'll be having regular updates, just like the Japanese version. In addition to the new quests and events that would be added regularly, we'll also be constantly adding new content, including new maps, new items for your character's Room, new clothes to help your character strut his stuff, new enemies and bosses, and new weapons and SUV attacks. In addition to this constant stream of new stuff, we'll be offering an expansion pack down the line, crammed with even more adventures and goodies!
Unlike PSO for our beloved Drmcsat, PC, Qbe, and not-so-beloved Xbox, PSU is an ever-growing game. You aren't stuck with "zomg Forest, Caves, Mines, and Ruins" just because that's all that's on the DVD. There will be more maps for you to visit.
Will users on different platforms be able to play with one another? wrote:PS2 users and PC users will be sharing servers, so they'll be able to play with each other. Xbox 360 users will have to be on their own servers; we tried to make it really easy for Xbox 360 users by having everything available through Marketplace, but in order to do that, we were unable to allow cross-platform play with PC and PS2.
Basically PS2 and PC play together perfectly, but since they didn't want to downgrade the graphics too much on the other platforms, 360 had to be seperate.
Can PS2/PC users from Japan play with PS2/PC users from the US? wrote:No, Japanese users have to sign up with the region that their game is from. But the cool thing is US and European users can rock on in the same world.
Unlike the 360 version, PC and PS2 can't play with random people in Japan who can't speak english.

This is because there's more than 10 people in Japan with a PS2 and PC. There wouldn't be enough room on the servers.

The awesome thing is that while PSU for 360 will have the 10 Japanese people and maybe another 50 Americans who don't have a PS2 or PC, the PC/PS2 versions will be online with Europe too. That's a shitload of people!
Are Sonic and Tails GMs? wrote:Sonic is Sonic, Tails is Tails, and Knuckles is Knuckles!
Uhhhh... what they said...
