Re: The adventures of creating a game

Good work ibly. And yes, those libraries exist, even such that can import multiple types of model files, such as collada, obj, 3ds, stuff like that. I'd find those libraries very helpful I have to say, although one could parse obj by oneself, but when it comes to formats like 3ds that are binary the...

Looks great I have to say. I'd change fonts though - Courier isnt really my favourite :D (Courier New for coding, yes, but for reading text.... nah)

Re: Clash of the IDE's

VS 2010 for me, too.
Although I have to say I use Notepad++ quite often, I just don't consider it an IDE all in all.
And actually, there's a whole lot going on in Delphi - yes, sometimes even in delphi 7... shades of the times before the Noachian Deluge^^

Is this happening ever since you bought the drive, or would it be normal some time ago? It might also be the device's normal working sound, you know?

Re: Windows 8 Just DIDN'T put Apple out of business

Alright bitches. I have been working with it for 10 days now, and I'm writing a little summary of what I think about this baby. First of all, most of the time you work with the normal UI you know if you have used windows seven - don't worry. Task Manager, Windows Explorer, all that stuff is there an...

If you ever worry about C++ and character sets...

Yesterday I had trouble finding out what the problem was when std::cout << "ä" << std::endl; just printed an "õ" (o with tilde above) to the console, when it should print an a with diaeresis. Turned out I had trouble with character sets. More specifically was it the console to di...

Not as far I'm aware.
My school chose to let us learn VB and not Java. I asked them once, and my teacher said you had to pay for Java. But now as far as my research goes, I'm not even sure lol :/

small b2t here. The only thing that a sort of general question must not expect, is a detailed answer. It should answer the question asked but not answer the 20 other questions that are imaginatedly appended to this question. With what you told us, OP, we can tell you to look at SFML, SDL or other if...

Re: Question about this art style

It's 99% written in x86 assembler/machine code (yes, really!), with a small amount of C code used to interface to MS Windows and DirectX. It's written in X86 ASSEMBLER? God, he's truly skilled. I mean, I totally enjoyed that game. All the logic and that... just great. I imagine programming ...

Re: I want help.

No offense but you guys are kinda being jerks to this guy. Take his word for what he says and give him some respect. He says he has more than a basic understanding of c++ and would like to find someone to code a game with. If you can't help him with what hes asking, maybe you should refrain from po...
