Re: How did you stumble across the Elysian Shadows Project?
I can't remember the exact search query, but I remember browsing youtube on videos regarding how to start game development. I stumbled upon the original, 'Game Development: Where To Begin' videos and from there I was hooked.

Re: Retro Games
Sorry for reviving an old thread of mine, but I didn't deem it necessary to create a whole new thread just for the following question. I've finally decided that playing games on emulators in nowhere near as fun as playing them on an actual console. For this reason I've decided to buy myself a N64 of...

Re: Post every time you beat a game.
Just to let you know, FF6 is FF3. FF3 is just the name for it outside Japan because the original 1, 2 and 3 were not released to the rest of the world until a lot later.cypher1554R wrote:No, but seriously. I've beaten FFIII and from the character names I think 6 is some kind of remake or something..

Open/Save Dialogs Not Working
The windows dialogs for opening and saving files are not working in some programs. The windows just do not show up and this means that in some programs I cannot open or save files. This problem isn't present in all programs though. I'm thinking that it is due to some sort of corruption in windows fi...

Re: The 6 Indie Game Development Mistakes
Although this does make valid points, I feel that it is too focussed on commercial interest rather than creating a game that is what you want it to be, which is more important to me and a lot of indie game developers.

Re: HIT THA BLOCK with a few bucks, came back with gold
I have to agree. Although I do play newer games most of the time, second-hand old games are ridiculously good value for money and in all honesty are just as good as modern games if graphics are not taken into account.

I never make a post just to say '+1', but I do add them to a post if I'm going to make that post anyway.

Re: Game Maker Multiplayer
I hate to be the one to tell you this (don't shoot the messenger!) but, Game Maker is kind of, looked down upon here. Game Maker itself isn't looked down upon. The people who use Game Maker and then go on to think that they are better and know about making games than those who use programming. Alth...

Re: SDL crashing at blit
Just remember.. if (you new them) { ... delete them! } else { memory leaks! } Your code is flawed. This would mean that whenever you don't use 'new' you are causing a memory leak. The correct way of doing this would be similar to the following: if(you new them) { if(!delete them) { memory leaks! } }
