This is exactly what I would have recommended. It's a stripped down version of 3ds max streamlined for game content creation. Last time I checked it was still free too.

thejahooli wrote:What program did you use to make these?
I used 3DS Max 2009 for the modeling, and Photoshop CS3 for the textures.

Re: The Official Golvellius Thread

When you were painting the scales on your texture did you do them all by hand or cheat with a plug-in like stained glass? I've never made anything with scales before and it would be interesting to know how you pulled it off. With this tutorial, the scales were pretty damn easy. ;) http://www.photos...

Re: Games you'd like to see remade (or demade?)

I'd like to see a few remade. For starters lets get some Rocket Knight Adventures in here. Also even though it's kind of shunned by Zelda fans I'd like a Zelda 2 remake. Another good one to remake would be Secret of Mana. I just feel like every Mana game after that fell very short of my expectation...

Re: The Official Golvellius Thread

Trufun. Your Vortella model looks pretty good. I haven't played this game before but you came up with a cool interpitation of the sprite work. I noticed you have a little bit of texture pull on your UV space [the tentacles on its head] but it's nothing major. I still have problems with that myself....

Re: 3D Artwork - Old and new

Niice. I might try 3D modeling one day but I know I couldn't do anything organic. Throw your deviant art page up here. Thanks. Mechanical modeling is easier it seems. The funny thing is I'm not good at thinking up mechanical concepts but I can model them once I have seen them. I've added a link to ...

Re: 3D Artwork - Old and new

wow, im really impressed! i wish i could do 3d models. ;) Thanks a lot. :) I'm not going to say it's easy, but if you had the time and the program I'm sure you could reach at least some level of 3D modeling. To be honest you don't even need to know how to draw. It helps but it's not required. My tr...

3D Artwork - Old and new

Well now that I actually have an account here I might as well share some art. I don't have much finished art to show because most of my previous works in progress were killed by my last computers death. It's been two years since then and I only just got a new computer. First up is the M109A6 Paladin...

Re: Official "Hello, World! (I'm new!)" thread

Hello world. Saw the AIGD on youtube and started lurking here some time ago. I figured I might as well make an account and shoot the breeze around here instead of lurking all the time. I'm just your average 3D modeler who is looking to get into the game industry. I currently work on 3D simulators an...

Well I look forward to future developments. Your project inspired me to made a quick 3D model of Professor Hector. It's not textured yet but I may create a thread in game design and post some images. I'll be lurking.

Any new progress with this? I loved playing this game with my friends and it's cool to see someone remaking it.
