Getting started in electronics

I've recently been wondering about how to get started with electronics. I've been looking at arduinos, and I've heard good things about them. The problem is, I have no idea where the best place to buy a starter kit is, or what any additional things are I might need. If you could recommend something ...

Adding a key combo for a new image would be a plus.

Re: Learning C++; Which books should i get.

Personally I would recommend anyone buy "C++ Primer Plus" by Stephen Prata. It covers a range of subjects, is easy to understand, and well worth the money you pay.

You'll learn beginning concepts as well as some more advanced concepts. Great read.

Re: Books from BN

I can easily recommend "C++ Primer Plus" by Stephen Prata. It's a tad more expensive at B&N than it is on amazon, but I guess it's still better than the list price.

Re: Minecraft Review

Aww snap well it went up in price. And I remember notch saying now if you buy it you won't get the final release for free. Although he keeps going back and forth on that.

Re: [GroundUpEngine] 3D Engine Progress

Actually I can vouch for 3dbuzz. They can help new c++ programmers go in the right direction. They do employ some bad practices, but the concepts are there, and I think they're worth a watch. As for their graphical programming VTMs, I don't know. I never bought anything, I just used the free C++ vtm...

Re: Opinions on computer specs

CHANGE OF PLANS: The computer I wanted went off sale. So now I had to buy this one http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7038400&CatId=3508 . Still what I think is a good build. Only problems are the tri core 2.1GHz and the 5900RPM hard drive. I hear they can die...

Ah yes! I didn't see the quantity "x2" there. In that case, I shall indeed be updating my video card for my birthday then. Probably to an HD 4670, they're relatively cheap.

Opinions on computer specs

I'm getting a computer for Christmas. My grandfather has pointed me to this computer. I think it's an amazing deal, what do you guys think? Keep in mind I'll be putting my 9500GT in there, and I know 2gb is a bit on the low end, but my birthday is in april, and I can hold out until then.

Age of Empires 3 10 cent today only

I guess games for windows live has some campaign going on to get people interested in it. Well, they've been having sales all week. They were pretty good, but this is by far the best one this week. Age of Empires 3, the complete collection, for 10 cents today.

Actually, its 11 cents with tax.
