Re: Bootleg Art
So the target audience is for people who want to make a zelda game (for instance) and don't want to/can't use ripped sprites because they want to release a game without copyright infringement or maybe even sell it? Am I right or..? I don't want to be negative about this idea, but feels like a very ...

Passing full commands to Lua from C++
Hey guys-- I'm working on a game in C++ that is using Lua for it's scripting language, and I'm using Luabind. I was just wondering, if there's a command in Lua or Luabind where I could essentially just pass Lua a string of anything and have it return a value. I don't want to have to specify in C++ w...

Bootleg Art
Hey guys-- I'm always trying to think of stuff to draw to add to my OpenArt webpage, but it can be hard without an actual game to make art for. One of the things I think that I will do is make "Bootleg Art", ala art that looks like it's from a beloved game, but is totally original. The int...

Re: Diablo III Release Date
For some reason, Trine kind of reminded me of a Blizzard game, artistically. Maybe I'm just insane. Trine 2 is really beautiful, though, it'd be nice to see the same detail in Diablo 3.

Re: inspirational/motivational movie suggestions
They're not movies, but I like reading books about the history of computers or game design... Masters of Doom - About the iD guys, from before Commander Keen until about the time of Quake 3, I believe. Dungeons and Dreamers - About Richard Garriott and Ultima. Hackers - Talks about the early days of...

Reverse Designing FF6
I found this on /r/gamedev on Reddit.
I haven't finished reading this- it's kind of long- but very interesting to read.

Double Fine Adventure
Double Fine, makers of Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, Stacking, Costume Quest, and Trenched (Not to mention Schafer and Gilbert being behind Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, and Day of the Tentacle!) set up a Kickstarter for a classic-styled point-and-click adventure game they would like to make. Within 8...

I don't know if I reported this or not last time I noticed it, but these pages are still down: Albums News RSS They aren't going to be coming back up, either. We have turned all web development manpower towards the production of the new website. Its release will coincide with Chapter 18. ...

Re: Someone posted on Reddit about AiGD
It was well on the way... but complications in my life have arisen this last week. I broke up with a girl that I both lived and worked with. I've been fixing up my old house (studio Vorbis), and until it's done, I have nowhere to live (other than an extended stay hotel). Ahh, that's going to be awk...

Re: Google Chrome - Side Tabs
Didn't know you could do that in Chrome, but that's the way I have my tabs set up in Visual Studio. I prefer it way better that way, though I feel like I trade the ability to see what all is open with whitespace.

Re: Moosader's Videos and Tutorials
Thanks, guys, that really means a lot. Right now my tutorials have been on a bit of a hiatus due to a real lack of good video creation software (I tend to go with free stuff if at all possible), so I'm still looking around before continuing with those. I don't know if you guys are aware, but I've be...
