Re: Rad Raygun
Thanks everyone, I really do appreciate it! I'm soooooo glad you didn't quit working on this... You just receded into the shadows and kept your head low for awhile (like we do). Exactly! I had to make a decision - keep making YouTube videos to build interest or FINISH THE DAMN GAME. (btw, ...

Hey guys, So it's been forever since I've been here, and I do apologize for being a stranger, but I'm finally putting the finishing touches on a project I've been working on for the past two years. It's a 2D platformer, similar to Mega Man, that has the resolution and color palette of the original G...

The politics of Software Engineering
A co-worker sent me this article yesterday, and I think it would make for a damn good discussion on these boards. http://bit.ly/OVIs3s Steve Yegge breaks down software developers into two categories: conservatives and liberals. After reading it, I think I definitely fall on the conservative side, al...

Re: Sega Master System?
btw, Falco, how are you doing in Golvellius? Making any progress? It's hard as shit to beat the first few times, especially without a walkthrough, but eventually you'll have everything memorized, just like Zelda.

Re: Sega Master System?
Trufun, do you own any "card" SMS games? Once again the SMS never ceases to amaze me... I just bought the "Power-Base Converter" for the Genesis to play SMS games... I'm impressed that I could type my paypal password this drunk... It'll probably arrive in a few days, and I won't...

Re: Chaos Rift XNA Developers
Actually, there are lots of guys around here that use XNA. I'm sure you'll get a bunch of responses. I wouldn't count on it. You scared them all off. Remember? :) The ones left will hide it at any cost. hehe ;P jk. Trufun released a game for XBLA if I remember correctly. We're totally cool with it ...

Re: Falco's Biweekly Game Purchases
I didn't realize that Golvellius switched gameplay styles like that. I thought it was all top-down Zelda style. It's like a cross between Zelda 1, Zelda 2, shooters, and maybe Castlevania. Yes! The dungeons alternate between top-down scrolling and side scrolling. In an attempt to recreate the inten...

Re: Falco's Biweekly Game Purchases
The cover of Golvellius is so epic. My favorite part: "With Password Save!" My nephew saw that on the cover and said, "What's password save?" And then it occurred to me, this next generation of gamers has never had to keep an epic list of passwords! And when you're mom thr...

Re: Falco's Biweekly Game Purchases
The second game is Golvellius, which is apparently Sega's answer to Zelda. WIN! No SMS collection is complete without Golvellius, period. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as my wife and I do. It's one of those games that you always go back to. It's become a tradition in our family to beat it at lea...

Re: Sega Master System?
It turns out that Sonic Blast was BRAZIL ONLY. It was released in 1997! Yup. The Sega Master System was HUGE in Brazil well into the late 90's. And by that time, Sega knew how to squeeze every little bit (no pun intended) out of that console. Hell, they even released Virtua Fighter 2 and Street Fig...
