Re: Strike a blow for the indie scene!

Bob's Game is full of shit. Plain and simple. This game is just nothing but a bunch of stereotypical characters, in a boring engine. His bragging is undeserved and he should just fuck off. This is not a blow for the indie scene. If you want a blow for the indie scene you should check out Paper Moon...

Re: Vectors vs. Arrays

Wow... that was a fast response. Don't be like most ignorant software developers who have never touched game programming in their life. Unfortunately the software development environment allows people to get away with being sloppy. Vectors are overkill usually. They use vectors as if arrays don't ex...

Vectors vs. Arrays

Which is better and why? Why or when would I need to use vectors?
I've only used various arrays throughout my programming career, and haven't really touched on vectors so I don't know much about them.

Re: FUCKING ASSHOLES

Oh man, this brings back horrible memories. I had just finished fixing my car (95 black mustang, love it to death) when I took a girl out to a movie, our first date. I remember walking out of the movie, and seeing a bunch of egg shells on the ground next to my car. And trust me, if you haven't seen ...

Re: leave C++ strings. get on the char* boat.

Wow... I had the hardest time with C strings. I remember in my C class I glazed over (read: slept through) several of the MANY lectures on strings, and boy was that a mistake. I spent more time pounding my head against the keyboard with string related errors than I'd like to remember.

Re: Hobbyist or Professional?

Since I'm only in QA, the best I'll be able to do for now is just tools, with only having community college training. I'm hoping though that with enough time, practice, and connections I can roll over into a dev house in the future. From what I've seen so far is that having the right connections wil...

Re: Adventures in Game Development

Can't go back through the chapters right now, but I can tell you what I liked about them. I like it when you guys show off different parts of the code, or how things work and what not. All the serious background deving that happens. I also enjoy watching your guy's crazy antics, two in particular th...

Re: NES Programming

http://mdb.classicgaming.gamespy.com/m1/m1source.txt Metroid 1 disassembled and commented on what is going on in the game. So if you have a copy of the game you could put two and two together. Yeah, I found that and was flipping through it, it's pretty hardcore imo seeing how the game was laid out,...

Oh, wow, I didn't even see this thread at all! I 'spose it's a good idea to introduce myself instead of spamming your forums, while everyone wonder's who that random guy is. My name's Jesse, or Slacker my friends have dubbed me. I live just north of Seattle, and been here my whole life. I live just ...
