Re: es

I'm not an authority on the project but IIRC the current intended release is just sometime in 2016. It was moved past the previous December release due to Tyler leaving.

Re: Sorting the code && Storing the files.

You mentioned directories, when the project is on my PC, I can write for example ,,D:\projects\Project1".. or whatever, without any problem... But what if I put the project in an installer and tell my friend to test it? Then the user will most likely install the program in some other folder, o...

Re: ps vita

As it stands (well, as far as the public knows), no. Release is planned for Dreamcast, Windows, OSX, Linux, iOS, Android and OUYA. Technically, if somebody ports libGyro to PS Vita then you could certainly use the toolkit to develop for it. I know at one point Falco was screwing with one of the Son...

Re: Making my own software (a newbie)

I would appreciate it if you can recommend something else, probably exercises or give me ideas to make softwares where i can actually find a use for : while, do while, for loops etc. Because i NEVER use them, i use just bunch of if statements to make things work. Have you ever seen /r/dailyprogramm...

Re: How it works? -- The interplay of programming & electron

Again, the Broadband Adapter does not "access the hardware" or anything like that. All the BBA does is allow you to connect your DC to a router for uploading executable files. The only other ways to get your program to run on a Dreamcast are to either use a coder's cable. or to burn a CD-R...

Re: How it works? -- The interplay of programming & electron

Well, to answer #2, the DC BBA is not used for programming, it's just used as a means of uploading ELF/BIN executables to your Dreamcast. You don't plug it into your machine, you plug it into your router and assign it a local IP pointing to its MAC address. Then, dctool-ip (software on your computer...

Re: Legendary worst code ever made

I found some beautifully terrible JS code used by the state of Washington for its medical marijuana tracking system. http://i.imgur.com/kngCnvw.jpg Apparently accessing the site via SSL doesn't work properly, so the login page just displays some fancy techwords to trick non-computer-savvy people int...

1600 x 900  LOL, jk. On the real, last year I tended to slack off a lot, using school as an excuse. In 2015 I hope to get back on my regular work track... still working on rewriting my engine with OpenGL. I'm gonna try to take a more serious tone to development this year.

Re: Your view on Secrecy while in development

Yup, my personal policy is to stay in the dark about my projects until I have probably at least around 2/3 of the "minimum shipable product" done, and then don't start actual marketing (PR and whatnot) until you have something that you consider the minimum shipable product. "Minimum s...

Hell yea, GameCube is for sure my favorite. I played Wind Waker but never finished it... I'll have to get back to it one day.

Re: What projects are you currently working on?

Well, I was working on rewriting my engine, mostly to switch over from SDL to OpenGL. But then I got distracted by libogc.

So now what little I have done of my new engine, also cross-compiles to GameCube... so that's pretty cool

I wonder if this will ever be used legitimately as evidence in a court case.
